  • Dismantling the Palestinians
  • Published at:Not Found
  • For more than four decades, the US has been reiterating that the Israeli settlements in the Arab land occupied in 1967 are an obstacle to peace. Only at the time of president Bush, senior, that the US took a measure which was an abstention from providing American financial guarantees to Israeli loans aimed at building settlements. That was ineffective anyhow. President Obama showed enthusiasm against the settlement activities, but proved to be incapable, if willing, of taking measures.

All along the long search for peace in the Middle East, the US hasn\'t been talking about the Palestinian national rights atop of which the right of return and the right to self-determination. Lately, she has been talking about building a Palestinian state without defining exactly what that means. But from scattered statements pronounced by several US officials over the years, the US, with most favorable interpretations, means the establishment of a Palestinian entity that serves as a security agent for Israel.
