- في خضم الأحداث المتلاحقة في الوطن العربي اختلطت المفاهيم الجوهرية للنهضة العربية بعد أن كانت قد تبلورت بشكل واضح وساطع خلال الربع الثالث من القرن الماضي، ولا شك أن ذلك كان نتيجة متوقعة للحركة العفوية الجماهيرية العربية انعكاسا لهزيمة المشروع العربي التقدمي في مواجهة المشروع الصهيوني الإمبريالي الأمريكي، ولكن الأمر المفجع هو أن يقع الفكر العربي التقدمي فريسة لهذا الضياع والتيه في جوهر المشروع العربي التقدمي، ذلك أنه إذا كان من المفهوم تخبط الحركة الجماهيرية بحكم عفويتها وعاطفتها ، فإن ضياع جوهر النهضة العربية في الفكر العربي التقدمي ليس فقط أمرا غير مفه

- The July attacks on civil institutions and the commercial sector in Nablus, West Bank, demonstrate Israel's determination to destroy the very roots of Palestinian life. On Monday July 7, the Israeli army raided four charitable Islamic schools, one of which has been closed indefinitely, and they confiscated their school buses. On Tuesday July 8 they raided and closed the Nafha Association for Prisoners' Affairs, the Federation of Islamic Trade Unions, Scientific Medical Association, Yazour Benevolent Society, Basma Association, and Graduates Cultural Forum. The following day they closed the Nablus mall, Beit al-Mal, and confiscated its building. تشير نتائج انتخابات طلبة النجاح للوهلة الأولى التي جرت في 4/11/2008 إلى تقدم كبير لفتح في غياب مشاركة حماس حيث حصلت على 55% من الأصوات الصحيحة و58 مقعد من مقاعد مجلس الطلبة في حين ارتفعت حصة كل من اليسار الموحد(شعبية+ديمقراطية+حزب الشعب)وكذلك الجهاد والمبادرة وفدا لتصبح حوالي 13% (10مقاعد) 10%(8 مقاعد),4%(3 مقاعد),2% (مقعدين) على التوالي .
