  • Critical Terminology in Contemporary Arabic Studies between Originality- and Modernization: Stylistics as a Model
  • Published at:Not Found
  • This paper examines issue of contemporary critical terminology, in an attempt to show its originality which goes back to heritage, or modernization which depends on imported critical studies. Since there are many terms used in contemporary critical studies, this study will take "stylistics" as a model for application. The study also reveals the concept of stylistics, its relation to linguistic studies and deficiencies in adopting it as a critical method in the study of literary texts. On the other hand, the study attempts to reveal the origins of stylistics in the ancient, critical and rhetorical studies in order to come up with a clear understanding of the relationship between the term and these studies, in terms of convergence and divergence in theory and practical application.
