I am working on a book entitled Tradition and the Literary Perspective, which is an in-depth exploration of the literature of England in its historical and cultural context. Have completed the Old English Period and major portions of Middle English literature, which include: the romance within the context of feudalism, the Church-State relations, the Crusades, the Hundred Years War and the Wars of the Roses; religious poetry in relation to institutionalized Christianity, the universities and scholasticism and the rise of mysticism; the development of the medieval town and the growth of drama and the Mystery Plays. I have already finished an in-depth analysis of William Langland’s Piers Plowman within the context of the fourteenth century protestant movement lead by John Wyclif.
